Freedom do We Have it?
06.29.04 (8:47 pm)   [edit]

Are we ever really free? It’s such a simple question but so man ask it. Once in grade nine my friend and I went to a folk festival in London. We were walking around looking at all the different crafts when we spotted an old stereo typical hippy couple. The had long grey hair and tie dyed tunics. We began talking to them about life and music when the man, who rather reminded me of a tinsy bit more alert Ozzy Osborne, asked us to think... is Canada really free? Well we can do many things. We can vote, we can drive cars, we can wear mostly whatever we want, but we still have SO many restrictions. We can’t walk around the center of town without getting arrested, we can’t have sex in public places and we can’t look or create child pornography. These things are against our societies morals and may not be correct at all according to our morals, but if we were a truly free country we would be able to do these things whenever we wanted. We pay taxes to the government every year and off our pay checks and everything we buy. We need these taxes to pay for many things and to help people in bad economic situations. So maybe the question should not be “Is Canada Free”, but maybe instead should be can Canada risk the costs of being entirely free. By giving people more rights the government loses certain controls over us and some of these controls we need in order for the whole country to be as free as we are today.

Jean Chretien

Well Paul Martin seems to have won it even if it is minority it's better than the alternative. Hopefully we can bring in some social changes with the NDP teaming up with the Libs. I must admit Paul isn't exactly my hero Chretien but he's alot better than it could be. I think that as for Canada's upcoming 137th birthday we can be thankful and proud of our new government!

Issues With Crust
06.28.04 (1:58 pm)   [edit]

I have a theory that I have been working on for some years now. In sociology class we needed to do a research assignment. I ended up picking how siblings were treated differently but I was toying with a different idea an idea that has probably plagued man kind of years... Do people who don’t eat their crusts try to avoid issues? I thought first of myself. I am a person who tends to avoid heavy situations and tries to procrastinate and leave things until the very end and I never eat my crusts. I started off by asking a few of my friends. Most of them enjoyed the crust on their breads and ate them without complaint. One friend did not like pizza but they still ate the crusts in order to save from having waste products come from their pizza. That friend of mine also did not procrastinate. She did all her work ahead of time. So what does that lead me to believe? I think this should be tested further but from what I see here I think there is almost certainly a definite connection between the consumption of crusts and the avoidance of problems. Why do I think they have a correlation? Well crusts are items that are easily removed from a food and not many people enjoy their rather strong, yet bland flavour. Therefore the crust is a miniature problem on a daily food that is easy to remove. So people who wish to avoid problems in their everyday social lives, in my theory, will tend to want to pull the crusts off their bread and or pizzas.

Fahrenheit 9/11
06.27.04 (8:05 pm)   [edit]

Well my weekend turned out fairly well despite walking on poisoned grass (Don't worry I washed my feet). My boyfriend and I didn't get lost on the bus system for once which is kewl with me and I saw Fahrenheit 911 with my boyfriend and his teacher/friend. The movie was kewl. It's definately not Moore's best work but it's not his worst either. The beggening dragged ALOT but maybe it's just because I could recite all the 9/11 911 calls off the top of my head and once you've heard one mothers desperate cry over her child you've heard them all. Like Stalin said (general words not quote) one murder is a tragedy but a million is just a statistic. Which Moore proves later on as a mother talks of the loss of her son the crowd around me started to ball and I admit I let a small amount of liquid drain from my body. At the beggening though no one cried. Once it got past all the (boring to me) stuff about Bush and Bush Sr. It got into some good stuff! From then on I'd say the documentary was fantastic. Maybe the reason why this movie seemed so different is because I hardly saw Moore at all. I mean not that I like the bloke or anything but maybe he's like one of those anoying things that becomes a part of your life and when it's there you hate it but when it's gone you kind of feel like a part of you is missing. I recomend seeing it though. It may anger you, I doubt it'll shock you but you'll probably learn at least one thing! I learned some stuff I'd never even considered before and that's what the world's about right? Moore may be crass and alittle self involved but he sure knows how to preach to the converted! Hopefully though this one will change some minds.

My Day (last log for today SORRY there were so many!)
06.25.04 (7:18 pm)   [edit]
Well I've started my own exercise plan and diet. Basically I'm just trying to it better not really reduce anything. For my exercise plan I will include cycling and Belly Dance Arobics (My favourite work out tape). It won't be as much fun as when I worked out at university with all my friends but hey it stillworks. I will also have some muscle toning as I hate my week girly arms! lol. This week at work was HELL! I did not feel well all week and took one day off but now I only have one day on the weekend boy was I not thinking. Hopefully tuesday will be fun though when I have a trip planned with work. I may have to cancel some of my summer camps from limited enrolment... this means more bordem and more hatred! I am so bored sometimes I'd rather shoot darts at myself than work. Today I did the entire garden! It was fun but now my arse is SO sore. My back was but it seemed to die down. Now it is almost 11 pm and I will have to go to sleep once again... missing out on life. I wish they could develop some way NOT to sleep. I feel like I miss out on SO MUCH! Think of all the things I could do... although I'd probably waist it watching TV or talking to my sexy man. I was feeling pretty low until I got my weekly letter from a university friend. No matter what his e-mails always make me smile and cheer me back up! This weekend (my one day) will be fun though. I'm going to my boys house and we'll probably go see the new Michael Moore flick. Now I'm not a fan of Mike himself but his movies are usually good. I also planned out my tombstone on my break at work. I have a quote and a picture. I will post them sometime later when I get a visual made up. I rather like it all. Why design my tombstone? Well we'll all die sometime and I want it done MY WAY! Plus you guys better have a bag piper at my funeral or i'll be damn pissed! I wish they could jsut throw my body whole into the Gulf of Mexico... then the sharks would eat it and it would return to nature. They finally sorted out my history thing... now all I have to do is HOPE HOPE HOPE I make it off the waiting list and into the class. I should be around position number 3 so I'm sure I have a good chance! I can't wait until school starts again next year. I love it SOOOOOO MUCH! Next year hopefully won't suck because I'll be away from most of my friends but I'm sure I'll make new ones too and keep in touch with the old ones. Hopefully we do anyway! I am currently in the works of (sort of) helping to plan a camping trip... more like I'm providing information for when I'm available lol. Well I'll let you know how that works out but it should work well. I'm also trying to get my G2. I think about that constantly. I am SO WORRIED and I know I'm not good enough to get it. I think I have like a 10% chance of getting my G2. I know people who are twice as good of drivers as I am and who failed miserably. I really don't understand, but if I don't get it I'll be forced to live on the street. Anyway I really have to get ready for bed now busy weekend ahead and a week ahead of that! Canada Day soon... LOVE YOU ALL!

Update on Bettie Page
06.25.04 (5:50 pm)   [edit]

So it turns out Liv Tylor is no longer playing Bettie Page. That was an old article. However there are currently TWO MOVIES due to be released in 2004 about Bettie Page. The first seems to be very mainstream the second seems to be less so (it stars a fetish/porn star).

The First one Entitled "The Ballad of Bettie Page" is staring Gretchen Mol. The second is called "Bettie Page: Dark Angel" and stars Paige Richards a well known Pin-up model. Both movies are due out SOMETIME in 2004 and should prove to be VERY entertaining especially for Bettie Page fans!

From left to right: Gretchen and Bettie Page; Top of the page: Paige Richards as Bettie Page in Dark Angel. Middle: Gretchen allegedly on the Set of the Bettie Page Movie.

My Dad's Influence
06.25.04 (4:40 pm)   [edit]

Ever since I was a young child I was subjected to the type of music my dad listened to. He listened to Warren Zevon, Tom Petty, The Wings and other bands I thought of as being equally horrible. I was never really into music much as a young child. Sure I liked Fred Penner, Raffi and the occasional other fleeting band but it wasn’t until grade seven that I really started to get into music. Unfortunately for me I liked bands like TLC, Greenday and Alannis Morisset. Then one day in grade eight I was camping with my best friend Melody. We were in the tent listening to tunes on the radio (She preferred Elvis and Metallica). I started flipping stations looking for Elvis for her when I came upon a REMARKABLE tune, “Band On The Run”. I sat there listening to the words feeling the music and for the first time I was in love with music. I wanted MORE. Finally I gathered myself together and realized I could NOT like this type of music. My father loved it more then I could imagine so I strayed a little until one day I became obsessed with a great man, Jimi Hendrix. For three years I listened to nothing but Hendrix, however the man is dead so after exploring all his music I could find for three years I needed something else. I began searching alternative stations and hard rock until here I am standing before you today with a list of musicians I love. Ones I can thank my dad for introducing me to. They are: Hendrix, The Wings, Warren Zevon, The Stones, and finally the king of them all, Tom Petty.

The Flea a Parody
06.23.04 (5:28 pm)   [edit]
This was also from an English assignment. It was to do a parody of The Flea by John Donne. IF you're not familiar with the poem it's about a man trying to seduce a woman by talking about how their fluids are already mingled with in a flea so why not mingle them some more. John Donne later went on to become Jack Donne (who was a man of the church). Original Poem:

THE FLEA.
by John Donne

MARK but this flea, and mark in this,
How little that which thou deniest me is ;
It suck'd me first, and now sucks thee,
And in this flea our two bloods mingled be.
Thou know'st that this cannot be said
A sin, nor shame, nor loss of maidenhead ;
Yet this enjoys before it woo,
And pamper'd swells with one blood made of two ;
And this, alas ! is more than we would do.

O stay, three lives in one flea spare,
Where we almost, yea, more than married are.
This flea is you and I, and this
Our marriage bed, and marriage temple is.
Though parents grudge, and you, we're met,
And cloister'd in these living walls of jet.
Though use make you apt to kill me,
Let not to that self-murder added be,
And sacrilege, three sins in killing three.

Cruel and sudden, hast thou since
Purpled thy nail in blood of innocence?
Wherein could this flea guilty be,
Except in that drop which it suck'd from thee?
Yet thou triumph'st, and say'st that thou
Find'st not thyself nor me the weaker now.
'Tis true ; then learn how false fears be ;
Just so much honour, when thou yield'st to me,
Will waste, as this flea's death took life from thee

Choice Four: Parody of John Donne's Poem "The Flea"

I know not the kind of woman you try to seduce,
But one like me does not deduce,
The act of sex from notions of fleas.
Images of blood, murder and guilt do not please.
When thinking of whom I’d like to see,
For the rest of my life and husband to be,
I think of romance and candles galore.
To you dirty man I must implore.
Use not notions of your flea ridden self,
Use words of flowers and beauty to express yourself.
How dare you compare my affections,
To something with so many imperfections.
Paint me pictures of rainbows and castles far away,
Where we’d love each other and spend our time in play.
Instead you accuse me of things sacrilege,
And give my wit the credit of a midge.
You are to cocky of a man,
To acquire this Lilly white hand.
The only part of you that shall remain with me,
will be your impure blood from the squished flea.

Traveling
06.21.04 (5:32 pm)   [edit]
This is a short story I wrote for English class last year. The teacher said she liked what I was trying to do but I didn't quite make it!

The car murmured like a mechanical lullaby trying to drift Allen off to sleep. His eyes kept interchanging their position from open to closed and closed to open. He sat rigidly in the drivers’ seat trying to stay awake. The cars zooming past him from all directions seemed like a dream. Their headlights cut through the rain like Zeus’ bolts of lightning. The warm air blows up from the dashboard creating a euphoria. A place where dreams incubate readily. Suddenly Allen’s eyes shoot open. He looks around astonished to find that he is only driving sixty km per hour on a highway. He speeds up and stares straight ahead, turning on the radio to be his one good buddy. The noise from the turbulence of the cars rushing passed him is drowned out by the nonstop blaring of the radio.

Allen begins to feel a slow numbing all over his body. It has stopped raining now but the moon hardly has a chance to be seen through the rough, dark clouds. He adjusts in his seat to awaken his body. He can almost feel the blood flow through his rediscovered veins. The radio goes fuzzy and he flicks off the switch, his eyes searching for a new friend to depend on. Finding nothing he begins to sing to himself. The first songs to glide through his mouth are by The Knack, ACDC, The Kinks and other lively bands. Then they begin to get more simple and more slow. Finally, silence fills the car. Allen looks out at the oncoming traffic. They zoom by like thousands of fish in a school. Different shapes and sizes but still identical to a degree. They begin to blur together as one. The headlights become fuzzy and dimmer. Allen squints and looks forward again. The cars in front of him also begin to meld together before his eyes. Their taillights making a chain across the road. Like thousands of stop lights beckoning him to obey their whims. Suddenly Allen sees them no more.

Every sense in Allen’s body is now awakened. His eyes are overwhelmed by the great white light that shines all around him. The invisible rays penetrate is skin and he is nearly blinded. Sweet smelling tendrils of perfume freely flow up his nostrils. They almost asphyxiate him. It drifts down into his mouth through his nasal passages and soon the smell is coating his tastebuds. He leans over, gagging and stumbling around. He falls down and becomes immersed in clouds. They cover every inch of his terrified body; so soft on his skin he can barely breathe. The pleasure of the clouds took over him. Allen becomes aware then of sound played on an organ so magnificent it would bring any great composer to his knees. It was something he had never heard before, yet it seemed so familiar. He lay there, enjoying the beautiful ups and downs of the rhythm. Suddenly, a shock ran through his body and he opened his eyes, gasping for air. He saw not the bright lights and strange sights that he was drowning in before, instead his eyes now rested on darkness and a different sound took it toll on his mind. Sirens blared all around him and highway noises whirred past.

Allen looked over at Sidney. She was the most beautiful girl that he had ever met. As her slender hand shifted gears, she smiled sweetly. She looked over at Allen and winked. Her sandy coloured hair blew in her face. “We’ll have to put the top up on the car sweets, it looks like it’s going to rain”, Sidney said as she made a lane change onto the highway. With that a crack of purple lightening divided the sky. Allen closed his eyes and looked at the ripples of colour blurring around the original bolt outline. He opened his eyes and then shut them tightly rubbing them. A sense of turmoil ran through his body. The hairs on the back of his neck began to stand up. He hadn’t driven since the accident and even now in the passengers seat he felt something wasn’t right. Sidney just sat there in her clean white dress unaware of anything. Allen began to breath heavily. He looked down at his palms and saw beads of sweat trickling down his wrists over his veins. He quickly wiped them off on his jeans, leaving smudges of moisture. His breath became short and laboured. Sidney smiled at him and he smiled back. As he did this, he held back months of anguish that were now boiling up inside him. Sidney leaned over to kiss him and as Allen closed his eyes in anticipation a cold chill ran down his back. He heard as clear as day the sirens around him. He felt jolts in the car and a sick feeling shot up from his bowels into his stomach. He opened his eyes and looked around. He was now back in the car with Sidney by his side. “Honey”, Sidney exclaimed with an expression of questioning on her face, “Are you ok? You’re breathing kinda funny. How about you lie down and have a nap?”

“I”ll be fine.”, Allen squeezed out as he wiped his forehead. Sidney still seemed concerned but she kept on driving. Allen lay his head back against his seat and watched the cars zoom past. The exhaust trailing out of them like foul, farting monsters. He looked up at the sky. A jet plane was flying past leaving a trail, like a kite, through the sky. He began to close his eyes again, but, like before, his breathing became more rapid. Suddenly he could feel the pain mounting all over him. He felt a scream escape his lips. There was no way of controlling it. It needed to escape like a caged beast. It forced its way through his inner body and out his jagged teeth. Sidney really looked concerned this time, “Allen? Allen can you hear me! Allen, look at me. I’m going to pull over this car right now. Allen, say something!”, but Allen couldn’t. He sat there fighting with every fibre in his body to stay in control. From behind a large crashing noise came. The car spun out of control and landed on an island in the highway. Allen crawled out of the car and sat on it. It was his own little green paradise in an ocean of concrete and smashed metal. The rain came tumbling down from the mysterious clouds onto him. He watched the cars zoom by, their tail lights soon melding into one, like rubies dotting the horizon. He soon felt dizzy and lay down. His body drifted off to sleep to the lullaby of the road.

Love or Fear, Choose One!
06.20.04 (6:23 pm)   [edit]

Recently I was watching a music video for the band Seether. Members of the band held up signs saying different, supposedly thought provoking, messages. I personally feel that some of the messages are wrong. One said “Love & Fear; Chose One”. This reminding me of a movie I just finished watching called “Donne Darko”. That movie made a very valid point. There is not only love and fear. Most emotions can be traced back to these two feelings but not all, that is why we have a ride range of emotions. So how can we pick just one and what one is better. Can people lead masses through love or do we need to be feared to hold the people under us. The movie “Donne Darko” brought up a good point in my mind and so when I saw this message in the middle of the Seether video I immediately thought to myself about these things. In my mind love is more important because no matter how feared you are you always have enemies, possibly more then usual, but if you are beloved by all it’s harder to take you out.

The Miracle of Journals
06.17.04 (2:57 pm)   [edit]

Journals, who knew. The last time I kept one of these was grade two. Sure I have a diary at home but basically I only gush about boys and clothes in it and how unfair the world can be. This has opened up a whole new world to me. Last semester I had co-op and everyday on my way there and on my way back, for the 15 minute walk, I used to think about the weirdest things. Like theories on religion and other matters. I’ve wanted to write them down for so long but been so lazy to do so, always finding some excuse not to. Now I have a place to put them.

Most people bitch and complain about problems in their journals mine I hope to make an impact with my thoughts. Some of them are complaining but others are key theories and thoughts that I have. I love to share weird beliefs with people so this is a way that can help me do this. At first I found it hard to write, but eventually I came up with ideas. In fact I actually have a back log of ideas and thoughts. A list of over ten things to write about.

One question remains however. Where will all these thoughts go? Sure they’re written out and you’ll glance at a few just to see what I wrote, but will they ever impact someone? It’ll never be a best seller like Kurt Cobain’s journals. However I have decided one thing, I will post the journals that aren’t too controversial on my website and hopefully they will enlighten if not change someone’s view of the world.

Hot Or Not... Results

Well the overwhelming majority of you were right! I didn't like guy number one who was Brad Pitt (although I think a younger picture of him) the second was the guy from Tool Time whom along with Drew Carey I've always found VERY attractive and finally the last one is a goth singer named Erik. He was definately the most attractive!

You're Lingerie Bettie...look at you, you sexy
thang, your a little dark and maybe a little
depressed deep down. maybe you've been caught a
few times posing in front of that mirror of
your's.

brought to you by Quizilla

Now this young lady is something to talk about. She is now 81 years old and she was born on April 22... that's right my birthday! Along with Vladimir Lenin and Openheimer... What a joyous day that is! Also she is dubbed the Queen of Bondage! There are also some links to her on the side bar!

It's odd... Apparently they are doing a biography about Bettie Page's life and they want Liv Tyler to play her... Personally I would have picked dita but maybe that's just me... What do you think?

"Evil"
06.16.04 (5:32 pm)   [edit]

Why is it always the ugly mean evil step sister? Why do we always label things like that? Like the evil empire or such thing. Who is to say what’’s evil or good? Right now we use basic biblical elements and anything other than that is determined evil. Some insightful words from Harry Potter, ““There is no good or evil only power””, illustrate the labels that we put on things. Why is Hitler evil? He did MANY things that contradicted Canada and other country’’s morals but perhaps it us our morals that are evil? Back in Egypt about 50 BC Cleopatra lived with her father and four sisters. Tryphaenia her eldest sister took the throne and was later murdered. To us she is all portrayed as evil because she went against the grain of the previous leader, but perhaps she would have done something great. In Buddhist culture they do not have ““good”” or ““bad”” karma, this is just how western society has labeled it. The old Buddhists merely referred to it as negative and positive. This allows us to explain the reactions of the karma with the human body but it does not clearly define negative karma as ““bad””. In my opinion intangible objects should never be labeled in such a definite way because there is no way for sure if we know if they have a different meaning or not.

I was going to put up a blog I'd written today about good and evil but now I'm just angry and need to get some things off my chest!

GRRRRRRRRRR sometimes I think universities just try to make things more difficult to piss you off! Honestly it's like a Monty Python episode. You can select class 1 - 100 but class 99, 77, and 22 are off limits. Also classes 102 - 103 are off limits but class 102 is on limits on mondays and fridays. You must fill out 290 forms in order to register for any class and each form should be done standing on your head backwards and upsidown while eating chinese food.

They tell you you have to be smart to get into university but apparently you also have to be an avid mine reader and Einstein to figure out how to register for a class!

I WANT RUSSIAN HISTORY :(

Hope this all works out...

06.14.04 (5:06 am)   [edit]
Well today is my day off. After all that anticipation it's FINALLY HERE! I can't wait... however it is almost 9 am and I'm awake... what the heck! Who wakes up at 9 am on their day off... Oh well. My mind is just so awake and I'm brimming with ideas. It's so nice today 26C. That's 78.8 degrees to all you american's out there. I'll probably end up reading today maybe writing a little not really sure... the TV will definately play a big part in it as most of my friends actually work today so I have no one to talk to.

Do you ever find that the best ideas come to you when you're sleeping? Here's one I think should come into effect imediately!

When I was a child my favourite TV shows of all times were A) The Addams Family and B) The Old Batman's. Now recently on TV (The WB to be specific) they have had a new Batman series called "Batman Beyond". This is a show taking place in the future in which Batman is old and teaches a new bat his old tricks. What I was thinking is they make a new live action show of Batman Beyond... Find some new hot guy to play Batman and then get Adam West to play the old aging Batman... IT WOULD BE SO PERFECT! What do you all think?

Finally comes the answer to who wrote and performs the Arthur theme song. Well it's not te Backstreet boys (Thank GOD) but it's someone WAY cooler!

Who sings the theme song to ARTHUR? Is it available on tape/CD?

It's sung by the wonderful Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. You can hear the ARTHUR Theme Song right here on this site in Arthur's Music Box. You can even read the music in Arthur's Songbook! Ziggy's dad was the famous singer, Bob Marley. There's also an Arthur CD from Rounder Records called "Arthur and Friends: The First, Almost Real, Not Live, CD (or tape)." It includes the ARTHUR theme song with Ziggy Marley, and other songs sung by Art Garfunkel, including Crazy Bus, and The Ballad of Buster Baxter. Be sure also to check out the new ARTHUR CD titled Arthur's Really Rockin' Music Mix available in stores September 9, 2001.

Whoever thought that the BSB wrote the themesong I'd like to hear where they got their info etc...

The Political Spectrum Test
06.13.04 (9:01 am)   [edit]

Recently in geography we filled out a questionnaire to find out what political philosophy we were closest to Hitler, Stalin, George W. Bush or Gandhi. I filled it out quickly and efficiently, and to my dismay I learned I was Bush. I nearly died on the spot. All of my life’s morals and thoughts passed through my head and all I could sputter out was “I got Bush?”. From that moment on, I started the stages of a crisis. Everything I ever thought was right began to melt away before my eyes. I contemplated moving to the US and buying a rifle, possibly even draping myself in the American flag and cashing in to all other forms of propaganda, just because I was now George Dubbya. I then began to panic. I checked every inch of my paper looking for mistakes, and when I couldn’t find one, I deemed myself unworthy of the Canadian soil I stood on. Finally, I came to terms with the fact that I was now a person I did not respect, yet still a faint shimmer of hope lay ahead that perhaps there still was a mistake. Perhaps I was actually Hitler or Stalin, which at least had some helpful ideas for their country. Then I made my way to history class, depressed and disillusioned. I set my books down and my friend, nay, an angel came to me and looked down at my test, and with these four simple words set my heart and mind free, “You made a mistake”. Gleefully, my stomach full of butterflies and my heart pumping, I recalculated my test. Negatives turned to positives in both numbers and moods and finally, with triumph, I graphed my new identity. With a sigh of relief I yelled out in bliss “I’’M GANDHI!”. Finally my world was right again and peace was restored to my mind.

Marilyn Manson

This is for all of you who think Marilyn Manson is just about drugs and suicide. First of all this is just an example of a song he wrote about drugs there are far more songs not related to drugs or suicide... second of all if you actually READ the lyrics you'll see that it's not about drugs at all but instead about Hollywood and the way it chews you up and spits you out. There are more examples out there if you just research. I used to dislike Manson more than anyone seeing him as some kind of fake pretending to be real but now I just see him as a wise business man with a hot wife and talent!

Read On:

The drugs they say make us feel so hollow
We love in vain narcissistic and so shallow
The cops and queers to swim you have to swallow
Hate today there's no love for tomorrow

We're all stars now in the dope show

There's a lot of pretty, pretty ones
That want to get you high
But all the pretty, pretty ones
Will leave you low and blow your mind

They love you when you're on all the covers

When you're not then they love another

The drugs they say are made in California
We love your face
We'd really like to sell you
The cops and queers make good-looking models
I hate today
Who will I wake up with tomorrow?

There's a lot of pretty, pretty ones [chorus repeat]

What is Human?
06.10.04 (6:18 pm)   [edit]

What is human? People have studied this for centuries. Recently we have traced human nature down to one thing, questioning who we are. I however think humans entail a little more than that. Human nature is more of a characteristic that can be added to other forms of life. Every human being deserves happiness and has the right to be happy, but are the murderers on death row really human beings? In this day in age and since the beginning of people we have had traits that range from helpful, to kind, to destructive, with many variations in the middle. To me what makes up human is not necessarily what we are made up of but how we act. Someone who takes another life revokes their right to be human. Where as say a duck who nurtures their children has human traits. Therefore murderers or others who commit unhuman things are not entitled to a life of happiness where as the duck would be. How can you tell what is an unhuman trait you ask? Well frankly, in my opinion, anything that causes fear, shame or panic is inhumane. If you pull a gun on someone or sexually assault them or threaten them than you are giving up your human ID card and you may as well sentence yourself to a life of bad karma and hardship. For all those who think we are a step higher than animals look at it this way like my parents always told me, ““Are you animal, vegetable or mineral””. Take your pick because those are your only choices in life.

Why Arthur Rocks!
06.10.04 (4:10 am)   [edit]

Every morning my alarm goes off at 7:15 am. I roll over praying to god for there to have been some sort of hurricane or other reason why I don't have to get up for that day. As I lay there in my state of limbo I realize it's approaching 7:30... I jump out of bed and rush to get dressed for at 7:30 it's time for Arthur. For those of you not familiar with this adorable ant eater. Arthor is a television show about of course Arthur, his family, classmates and don't forget his dog Pal! This ingenious little show undoubtedly brings a smile to my face and my day worth living! If it wasn't for Arthur I don't think I would ever get out of bed... despite the linger need for money to get me through university. So remember Arthor 7:30 on CBC Monday to Friday. Just a little tip from me to help you start your day off right!

Arthur

Theme Song

Every day when you're walkin down the street, everybody that you meet, has an original point of view
And i say hey! (hey!)
What a wonderful kind of day, if we can learn to work and play, and get along with each other
You've got to listen to your heart, listen to the beat, listen to the rhythm, the rhythm on the street,
Open up your eyes, open up your ears, get together and make things better, by working together
It's a simple message, and it comes from the heart, believe in yourself, 'cause that's the place to start!
And I say hey! (hey!)
What a wonderful kind of day, if we can learn to work and play, and get along with each other
Hey! What a wonderful kind of day
Hey! What a wonderful kind of day - Hey!

Normal
06.09.04 (6:30 pm)   [edit]

In today’s society we throw around the term “normal” too much. Really, what is normal? There is no set, THIS IS HOW WE SHOULD BE, and there’s nothing saying how we shouldn’t be either. We all say we are TOO normal when in reality each and everyone of us isn’t normal at all because there is no “normal”. Since the beginning of human existence there are differences and similarities between us. There was no normal then and there is none now. There are ways to classify things as normal. Usually if someone is acting differently or looks differently we call them abnormal. Perhaps though they are the ones that are “normal” and we are the ones that are strange. Perhaps “normal is having your left foot coming out of your right ear. Human behavior has changed. Receding hairlines and body odors used to be an asset. Now we wouldn’t give a person with those traits the respect they deserve as a person. So in conclusion I propose that we eradicate all usage of the world “Normal”. From now on we should use expressions such as “That’s usual”, and “No flaws predetermine by our society here”. So take a stand stop using the “N” word now!

Stats on TV and Violence
06.09.04 (4:05 pm)   [edit]
Statistics on crime in Canada over the last five years. Although it says violent crime has risen at the top if you look down further you clearly see it's gotten smaller so I'm not quite sure where they are getting that stat from.
Stats Can
Statistics on crime in US have also fallen. Sorry I don't have stats from farther back it's the best projection I could find a simple search of google should reap more results however (note the rise in English rates).
Stats US
Well if you examined the Statistics you could say to me "Well Crime has just been going down recently since a large increase since the 1960s (aka around when TVs became widley accessable". Well for that response I've also added some other statistics...
Here are some stats:
This is the rate of TV usage in the world. US has statistically the highest crime rates however China has statisically most TV usage per capita (so population does not affect stats).
World Crime Rates
TV usage per Capita
As you can see they don't really correlate. Here are two more local examples of Mexico and Canada
TV usage per Capita N.A.
Crime Rates N.A.
Also don't correlate! Here are a few other states that you can use your imagination with...
Religion in North America
Finally a stat I just kinda thought was funny... The countries you'd think people would freeze to death in apparently know how to deal with the cold...
Death from Cold
***DISCLAIMER*** Technically stats can be used to prove almost anything if you twist them enough but these are taken from reliable places in both the united states and Canada. Obviously I can't change everyone's opinion but some people will hopefully become more educated. Here is the site I located these facts:

A Little About My Day
06.08.04 (7:16 pm)   [edit]
Well I suppose I can't be all flash and bang I have to have some mundane details in my "blog"... not sure if I like that word yet by the way.

Well basically I had quite a few meetings today at work. I have all my trips planned out and everything is ready to go! I've seen so many movies lately! Shrek 2, Van Helsing, Troy and The Day After Tomorrow. I also rewatched Bowling for Columbine. All were good movies... except Van Helsing, a little predictable but good enough for me! Hell who doesn't like a hot vampire once and awhile?

My friend told me about the kewlest band ever. He went to school with them and I linked them to my site. They are called "The Crawling Kingsnakes". They are hardly even popular yet I love them! Too bad they are so far away or I'd listen to them all the time! They have some sample tracks on their site I recomend you give them a listening to!

I also added another new link to this site. It's a "Blog" of another person I met on here. I think their material is brilliant so you should all give him your time and consideration!

Finally I added TCR... This site belongs to someone dear to me and I enjoy the commics... not a fan of message boards as he knows (which is ironic so shhhhhhh) but I still frequent the silly drawings! Check it out!

Nothing exciting is going on in my world so I'll be sure to notify you if anything comes along...

Here are a few facts I guess:

School Marks 75%
German: 80%, Cultural Studies 77%, Anthropology 77%, History 75% and Politics 66%

Also I got rejected from Concurrent Education... I suppose that's all the news up to date now!

TV Today
06.08.04 (2:04 pm)   [edit]

People over analyze their lives far too much in this day in age. Television and music do affect a persons mood much like many other things in life. When a person is in love it affects their mood. Most feel happy sometimes to the point of it being out of character, others may respond in different ways, but one thing is clear there is always some response and change of mood. When you loose someone it invokes a natural human response. These are all experiences that we go through in the course of our lives. All that TV and Music are is a human experience. It is something that our body reacts to the same as any other social situation. When a person watches TV, their mind is constantly thinking. Their minds are searching the shows for similarities between their situations, ways to behave and how to solve problems. The old expression “Monkey see monkey do” applies to us in that way, whether we are mimicking actual people or events we see on TV. We don’t JUST mindlessly go about and copy what we see on TV, sometimes we learn what not to do from the events on it. That is determined by prior events in life. We may have more TV today then we ever used to but we also have more leisure time then ever before too. With technology we have hours free from doing the laundry. The Elizabethans would be too busy working to spend seven hours at the theatre. If anything TV and music have created a safe escape from life. Drugs have always been present in society for leisure use, in fact it was not until recently that the banned them from our food products. Television is like drugs but without the harmful chemicals to our body. There are known benefits for most drugs, society just needs to decide if the cons out weigh the benefits and at what cost losing an escape will be to society.

Attack Of The Killer Remotes
06.08.04 (1:16 pm)   [edit]

The idea of blasting out reality is something that has been used far too many times in literature. Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World uses many concepts of using drugs and other forms of media to take the human mind off reality. Other science fiction authors have used this concept a well in all sorts of media like television and movies different writers explore this. The idea of putting mind control drugs in food as a way to block out reality is rather mundane to the “Si Fi” community, but one idea that is not explored very often is the idea of just being controlled by food its self or other everyday things like say a remote control. Some people are completely controlled by those devices. Like my sister for instance, while watching TV she constantly has to have a remote in her hand. If someone takes it away she’ll bite and claw to get it back. It’s like that tiny little ordinary thing is controlling every inch of her. You don’t ever see that in horror films, “The Attack of the Mind Controlling Remotes”, but that’s basically what it’s like.

Why Cherry Bomb?
06.07.04 (5:04 pm)   [edit]

You may wonder why I chose the name Cherry Bomb. Well for those of you who have known me for awhile you may have already figured it out. Well basically my boyfriend introduced me to a new thing called "E-Fedding". This is when you wrestle online using "Roleplays" or "RPs". Whomever's roleplay was the most creative, well structured, had a good length etc... won the wrestling match. Now I was really not a fan of wrestling but who isn't a fan of escaping from the real world so I invented a character and decided to give it a try. My character, as some of you may have already guessed by now, was named Cherry Bomb. She was like me but exaggerated by ALOT. Below I have submitted a sample Roleplay and a picture of the Cherry Bomb Character. The woman used for Cherry Bomb is Miss Dita Von Teese who is actually dated (and possibly married) to Marilyn Manson. Her real name is Heather Sweet. She does burlesque shows and vintage pin up photos. She is truly deserving of honouring! I've included some links to her websites to the left.

Cherry Bomb:

Example Roleplay:

*Cherry Bomb fans herself by an open window. Sweat from her latest match pours down her face. She is alone. She throws the towel against the wall and it slides down. She stands up and walks toward the window in her dressing room. She peers out knowingly.*

It seems like every time a make an new ally they back out on me. The Hardyz seemed to be the new Raven. My new play things and now they want a shot at my title? Well I suppose it’s only fair to give them what they want. I’m proud of you boys. So new so fragile to me and already wanting to suck me dry. I love it. Lets just say boys anytime you need something including a match come to me and I’ll be willing to provide it. You can TRY to take your belts away from your master, but you shall not prevail. If they are still mine, which they will be for a long time to come. You better be careful what you wish for boys.... As for Katzlcaw, just remember who brought you into this world and mind your manors. You’ll do alright.

*Suddenly the door bursts open and a mysterious figure clamors into Cherry Bomb’s domain. It stumbles into the corner and lurks almost undetected. Cherry Bomb turns to it.*

CB: I see you made it. I’m glad there’s someone around here I can count on.

Darkness: I am the one whom you can count on and I am the one whom you can lay all of your desires and whims upon. I will be there to cousion and comfort and also to avenge.

CB: Oooooooo I think I’m going to like having you around.

*Cherry Bomb turns back to the window.*

CB: Raven, hun we’ve had our ups and downs and shit we’ve made it through it all. I don’t wanna try to rush things here but don’t you think we should give it another chance sometime? I mean fuck we were good together, remember how long we reigned? I’ve never been able to hold tag titles that long without you my dear and the Impact Players held every major title. I know the past will never come to life again, but I think we should create a new future where you and I reign again. Perhaps we can let some others in on it as well? What do you say Raven are you in or are you out? There could be crusifixions and brandings? Tempting huh? Just give me a shout!

*A loud rap is heard at the door and then it slowly creeks open. Cherry Bomb turns slowly to face the prey. She licks her lips slightly anticipating the hatred and anger that will arise.*

Xtacy: I... I just came to grab some stuff. The security guard told me you left. I never wanted to interrupt you.

CB: That’s what I wanted to happen. I wanted to say goodbye to you one last time.

Xtacy: You don’t even know if I did anything! How could you, the only thing you did was overhear a few phone calls and that’s about it. If anyone should be mad it should be me.

CB: Exactly sweetheart, you SHOULD be mad, but you’re not because you feel guilty. I know you did something, I can tell by the way you move, the way your eyelashes whisp across those big blue eyes of yours. You reek with the sent of guilt.

Xtacy: Fine you wanna know what it is? It’s Simon, that’s right the boy that was too good for you. He showed me something, that I didn’t have to be your slave in order to be happy. I’m my own person and I can think and act for myself.

*Xtacy swirls around when she hears wrustling in the dark corner. She gapes in horror at the nothingness that is. She turns back around to face Cherry Bomb.*

Xtacy: Who’s over there? Are you trying to kill me?

CB: You’d think that wouldn’t you? Know I think teaming up with that man whore Simon will be a good enough punishment for you. That is just a new friend of mine.

Xtacy: You realize you’ll never find a replacement for Raven. You can search the earth until you die but you’ll never be able to do that. Just give up suck up your pride and go after him. You’ll never be happy until you do.

CB: How dare you accuse me of that. No my darling Xtacy, just be ware the curse, now get out of my site. I’ll have the GWL FedEx you your crap.

*Xtacy turns on her heels indignantly and begins to walk about the door. Cherry Bomb calls after her.*

CB: Take a long look at what your leaving behind sweets because you’re never getting this back again.

*Xtacy puffs out the door hurriedly. Cherry Bomb turns to the person in the corner. She smiles sadistically at thoughts unknown to the world. She walks over into the darkness herself and sits down.*

Vagrant my child, you are so predictable. Don’t we have some unfinished business to take care of? I believe there was a matter of your manager and myself. Why is it that Davis always gets so much of your attention? Do you not find it boring to face him? I worked long and hard to beat him and then he wussed out on me. I believe he will do the same to you. We are not friend nor are we foe but you must admit a relationship like ours needs to be addressed. So what say you Vagrant?

Storm, don’t think I could ever forget about you. That belt around your waist should be mine. I was promised a rematch and I intend on getting it. I don’t care how long I have to wait, but I’m going to make that belt mine. Storm you better watch your back because you never know what may lurk in the darkness and what may hide behind the corners you turn. Live your life in fear my precious.

*Cherry Bomb and the thing stand. They look each other in the eye in complete silence and then Cherry Bomb takes a step forward.*

GWL you better watch out because the bomb is about to explode and a curse will spread to your hearts.

First Entry
06.07.04 (7:22 am)   [edit]

As the title states this is my first entry! As such it will not promise to be exciting or inventive or even the least bit creative but eventually this place will harbour creative ideas that need to be expressed! Ever since I quit acting school I have been looking for a creative outlet that will suit me well. Perhaps this could be it! So check back and see if the entries keep coming in!
